Xsens releases Updated versions of Famous MTi 1-series modules

Today Xsens released the upgraded versions of the prosperous MTi 1-series of motion-sensing Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) modules, providing enhanced roll, pitch and yaw measurement precision and higher tolerance of mechanical strain than the very first generation of the goods. The module is currently available in the Xsens shop for dispatch in production volumes.

Xsens has incorporated into the modules that were the best-in-class accelerometer and gyroscope ICs together with its high performance sensor fusion algorithms. The modules synthesize at rate the inputs from motion detectors, to provide synchronized information on an item ’s heading, orientation, position and acceleration. The exceptional Xsens sensor fusion technology generates accurate measurements of motion, perfect of professional UAVs and drones and for stabilization of handheld scanners.

The updated design of the MTi 1-series modules has generated improved performance, including static roll/pitch measurement precision of ±0.5°rms, lively roll/pitch measurement precision of ±0.8°rms, and lively yaw measurement precision of ±two °rms.

Xsens has also enhanced the mechanical layout of the modules’ 12.1mm x 12.1millimeter x 2.6mm surface-mount bundle, which is significantly less susceptible to the effects of torsional pressure, and more robust and reliable in demanding applications that are subject to shock or vibration. Without undermining the appeal of the MTi 1-series to exceptionally weight-constrained programs like drones, xsens has realized this layout: every module weighs significantly less than 1g.

Xsens is currently encouraging the upgraded MTi modules using a high-performance development kit which comprises a shield board using an Arduino-compatible header for effortless integration into design systems that are shield-based. The kit is supplied with a software development kit with drivers & rsquo; intuitive MT Software Suite for your Windows & reg; and Linux & reg; working systems, and Xsens and embedded software examples.
